SLAPP (Strategic Litigation Against Public Participation) suits are lawsuits systematically used by corporations to silence community activists across America. eToys' lawsuit against etoy is not technically a SLAPP suit, but its "giggle quotient" is typical of SLAPP suits, which almost never win--their point being only to tie up their victims in endless legal wrangling.
