FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

SAN FRANCISCO, USA, APRIL 27, 2000

MAY 1ST GUERRILLA ADVERTISING CAMPAIGN WILL CONFRONT CAPITALISM

The guerrilla art group Together We Can Defeat Capitalism (TWCDC) is planning spectacular traffic-stopping actions throughout San Francisco to advertise the shortfalls of the capitalist system. The actions will take place on MAY 1, 2000, the day on which socialism is traditionally celebrated around the globe.

The actions will consist of highly visible messages displayed to traffic and pedestrians at strategic locations using a large mobile electronic message board. The message board is similar to the type used to alert motorists to road construction and traffic accidents (a picture of the equipment can be viewed at http://www.addcoinc.com/t_solar_l.htm)

Strategic locations include the Pacific Coast Stock Exchange where TWCDC will display the message: "WARNING - STOCK MARKET CRASH AHEAD". In multi-media gulch, echoing president Clinton's concerns about equality of access to the internet, dot-commers will be confronted with messages such as "DANGER - DIGITAL DIVIDE AHEAD". Other planned locations include City Hall, Nike Town, Metreon, the US Mint, SFMOMA, and the Moscone Center.

This highly visible and provocative event will express the reservations of many people about the corporate agenda, the dot-com feeding frenzy, big-money politics, the widening income gap and other problems related to capitalism.
